Our class embarked on an extensive wind turbine project that culminated with HTHNC's Exhibition on December 20, 2012. We designed and built wind turbines that generated electricity and learned the basics of circuitry and electromagnetism.
In November our class toured a working wind farm near Palm Springs, CA. We visited a variety of wind turbines and learned about the ecological impact, economic importance, and the physics behind these giant structures. Find below photos taken during our tour.
Building our own wind turbines was quite a process. Several students also built their own generators using magnetic wire and magnets. Please find below photo documentation of our journey towards exhibition.
